BPD & HPD

Postby thefool » Sun Jan 01, 2012 7:09 am

There are so many similarities between the two ....

its quite hard reading the DSM at times to see much of a difference.

I suppose the hPD is more shallow emotions right ?

if you say something bit triggering and if that person gets mad at you and impulsively try to
'cut off' the relationship with you, 'avoid' you, 'block' you get 'obviously aggressive at you'

BPD.

if the person doesn't avoid you apparently even when is really mad at you and indirectly criticize you,

HPD.

if the relationship with you and the person is too unstable,
just alter between enemy and friend in a too much short manner of time,

BPD.

If the person does self-cutting, most likely

BPD.

if the person often tells you that it seems like she has a problem with her health, and she actually finds doctors,

HPD

if that person suddenly become nice to you again as if nothing has happened and suggest you to get back to the relationship shortly after having been like,
terribly criticizing you and say like she hates you so much, and doesn't want to see you again never,

HPD.

if the person seem like find it hard to apologize to you and come to you again after the fight, or doesn't act perfectly naturally infront of you after the fight as nothing has happened

more likely BPD.

It the person seems like more sexually approaching to you than normal ppl

HPD.

If the person doesn't kind of sexually seduce you, and quite sexually appropriate,
and value emotional connection with you as much as normal people,

BPD.

my opinion.

Well, I'm supposedly both, and I see both qualities in myself, and have a helluva time picking apart which trait/behavior belongs to which one.

Basically, when I'm feeling like a sexual seductress, HPD.

When I feel like not being touched by anyone on the planet, BPD.

Other than that, the lines are always blurring.

I'm HPD. I'd say that there can be a bit of a blur between the two disorders, but the core issue of HPD is a need for attention, and the core issue of BPD is a fear of abandonment.
