Wellbutrin did not help me at all. It just felt like I shotgunned four espressos. I'd get jittery and feel all this extra nervous energy but the mental fog just got worse so I was even less able to do something productive with the energy.
But I also have ADHD so it may not be entirely the BPD working there. Wellbutrin is not considered much of a treatment for ADHD either.
I also took Strattera at one point, which is an NRI so it is somewhat similar to Wellbutrin. That also just gave me nasty side effects and did not help the ADHD it was prescribed for, and did not help depression or BPD.
I've also taken tons of different SSRI and SNRI meds, all of which made me absolutely miserable and none helped with depression or anything like that. Lexapro just made me feel like my brain was rattling around in my head.
Out of well over a dozen different antidepressant class meds I've tried, Serzone is the only one I could tolerate. I don't know if it did anything for my depression or not but unlike every other AD it did not seem to have negative side effects I couldn't tolerate.
