Hi. my ex whom I live with sings whenever she's in the hall or the room next to mine, either that or she laughs manically at seemingly nothing. What is this? some sort of cry for attention or to distract herself from her problems?
Also if shes ever on the phone bitching about me to her family or friends she hovers outside my door and talks really loudly-I figure shes trying to get some kind of response from me. Why can't she just move on with her life and leave me alone? I've made it clear I want nothing to do with her since her behaviour has pretty much destroyed me.

I think that the word 'cry' for attention is a bit misleading. It just seems like she's doing exactly what you think: trying to provoke a reaction in you. I'm sure that things will calm down if you hold your nerve and never respond to her. If she's 'not with it', however, then she might just try ever-more elaborate and potentially dangerous ways of provoking you. If you notice her doing this, then don't think twice about calling the police. People like her cannot get away with behaviour like that.
