nyspi.cpmc-Oh Brother where art thou?

Postby warspite » Sun Apr 10, 2005 2:23 pm

I am curious if anyone-either professional or patient-knows what happened to the Borderline long-term treatment unit at the New York State Psychiatric Unit(PI) at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. From many years, this unit was one of the most famous treatment and training facilities. Is it closed? Did it move to a new location? If it closed, what happened? If anyone knows, please post. Any former PI "grads" out there? Let me hear about your experiences and time-frame of treatment. Thank you.

I found some things in google about it, maybe one of the websites will give you an option to "contact", and you can find out what happened, or if they moved.

NY Presbyterian Hospital

Postby I M New » Mon Apr 25, 2005 10:31 pm

In doing my research for my fiance's possible problem, I went to borderlinedisorders.com and found a document with an address and phone #. On the website, they said that they are one of the world's leading authorities in BPD.

It is Personality Disorders Institute, Cornell Psychotherapy Program, The New York Presbyterian Hospital - Westchester Division, 21 Bloomingdale Road, White Plains, NY 10605. Phone #s: Outpatient: 914/997-5940, hospital treatment: The Evaluation Center: 914/997-5700; for private referrals: Dr. John Clarkin at 914/997-5911.

Hope that this is helpful.
