pseudo-hallucinations

Postby alice524 » Mon Sep 09, 2019 7:01 am

i recently read on NCBI about symptoms of psychosis in BPD patients being called "pseudo-hallucinations" because they only occur during timmes of distress. The new term is called AVH, auditory verbal hallucinations to be less stigmatizing. i myself have occurrences of nonreality that happen sometimes but get more frequent. i'll hear something bizarre like a snake hissing, or a creepy voice far away saying nonsense, or flashes of light and shadow just catching my eye, and an increasing number of things. does anyone else with BPD have a similar experience?

note: disassociation can trigger a feeling of nonreality but i understand that they are two different things.
clockwork. falling sky. god disproving the existence of god.
