Do BPD’s hate NPD’s???

I don’t know if anyone else feels this way, but I hate NPD’s a lot. I know that probably seems horrible, but I use to have a fear of being a narcissist and I think it stems from my BPD and not just my OCD like I thought. I’ve heard the common narrative that BPD’s are actually attracted to Narcs, which makes sense, but I also hate them at the same time. Not sure if this is important, but my mom was NPD so that might be why I hate them.

I also want to point out that i’ve seen a lot of posts by BPD’s who think that they’re a narcissist and that was me like 5 months ago.

Maybe for some, but I have a friend who I idolize, and he has NPD.

Also, BPD + NPD is a common combination. Oftentimes people with either PD will also have the other, or at least traits of it.

I don’t hate people with NPD, but I do feel like it’s harder for me to understand them sometimes and other times I can relate. I think pwNPD are thinking/cognitive types, and their defense mechanisms gear towards that as well. PwBPD on the other hand, tend to be feeling types and we react based off of that. So, it can be hard to understand each other.

I don't hate anyone because I wouldn't want to expend that kind of negative energy on someone.

that said, I certainly wouldn't choose to have someone with NPD in my life because that's never going to be a healthy, loving, supportive relationship because of their behaviours. if someone in my life was exhibiting behaviours in line with that kind of personality, I would remove that toxicity from my life. ain't nobody got time for that.

I agree with rainbow, it isn't worth your time and energy to hate someone and its a bit irrational to hate out of fear.

Yeah, it probably is extremely irrational for me to hate NPD’s , I guess I can empathize in a sense because they didn’t choose to be that way just like I didn’t choose to have BPD. I definitely have a lot of sorting out to do with my past experiences, because they definitely cause these fears.

i feel that the people who admire narcissists and want them and enable them are more pathetic than the narcissists. and i don't mean borderlines.but in general.

Aren't those type of people considered co-dependents? I know borderlines are codependent, but not every codependent is borderline obviously.

I'm drawn towards people whose issues are like mine: low self-esteem, confidence issues, anxiety issues, fear of the world... I try to surround myself mostly with generally intelligent, critical introverts with obsessive interests.

Never have I felt the slightest bit drawn towards people with narc tendencies. I'm repulsed and immediately turned off by people who show narc traits.

And not every borderline is a codependent. There's also the counterdependents.

I don't hate narcissists. But I keep interaction to a minimum. Most of them are boring. Sometimes they annoy me.
