How do you get through the low?

Postby Virginityrocks » Tue Oct 03, 2017 4:52 am

It doesn't happen everyday, or even every week, but occasionally I have the series of highs and lows throughout the days of a given week. My day will start off amazing. The world is beautiful. I walk outside, the sun is shining. I am bundled with energy and love being alive.

A few hours later, after feeling like a living God, I feel a lull in the mid afternoon. And that's when I know I have 1 or 2 hours before the low hits... And I'm texting friends frantically, and getting mad at them for not responding after 5 minutes, then going home, laying under a blanket and feeling like an impudent worm. Contemplating suicide (though rarely is it a serious thought). Just wanting it to end. This lasts about as long as my high, which is between 2 and 3 hours.

How do I best prepare for the low? Has anyone had any success with taking a medication just before a low? Or a sleeping pill to sleep through it?

i think of it as flood followed by drought.

whenever i am very happy/excited, i purposefully calm down. like always try to stay in a calm state of mind. i listen to meditation music while i study so that helps staying calm.

when i feel very low, i listen to sad songs/sad music and release the pain. crying helps. i let it pass. it passed away the last time, so it will pass now as well.

also exercise helps. i used to go to a gym a few years ago, when my mood swings were at their worst. going to a gym helped.

i've also told my 2 friends of my mood swings, so they understand my mood swings and are okay with it.
