My "favorite person" has a new best friend

Postby EbbaMarie » Sun Jun 04, 2017 9:11 pm

I read several places at this forum, that borderlines tend to have favorite persons. I do too, but he has gottn a new best friend :(
I can understand it, as we dont live in the same city, and we havent for about three years. We have been visiting each other, and its been good, but now he has had a new best friend for a couple of months. I can tell as we dont really speak on the phone any more. He doesnt really need me.
I try to be mature about it, accepting it. It just hurts so much ... When I picture him going on trips with this new person I begin to cry immediately. I cant really "do" anything about the situation. I cant movie to his city just for our friendship, so I need to accept this.

Any advice for the pain? I feel as if I have to cut him out completly in order to stand the pain :( I dont know how to handle this. Ive been drinking a lot lately, but its not doing any good. Advice?

Sending you a warm ((hug)). Forgive me if this sounds insensitive but is there another person that you are close to that could fill some of your time? It may not remove the pain from losing your best friend but it may help to ease it if you have another to spend some time with.

I wouldn't suggest just cutting him out of your life if he was your best friend. That isn't fair to him. Even though you may feel he is not being fair to you. Call him up and talk to him. He may not even know how this is affecting you.

Thank you ^

I do have others, but yeah.. I guess its the summer coming that make the feelings stronger. People are gone on holiday, and suddenly I have loads of free time to think.

I think its more the jelaous feeling of him having some one else, more than the feeling of him being gone. I am scared of talking to him about this, because right now I dont know if I can cope if he confirms my thoughts :( I dont think I could handle it. My stomach turns just thinking about it. Its pathetic, I know :(
