The boredom

Postby NapolitanoWA » Sat Feb 04, 2017 2:43 am

Boredom is my biggest enemy is leads to feeling empty/depressed and wanting to be destructive. It's hard for me to be awake and do absolutely nothing!!

So, what do you do you combat the boredom? Expecially when you've been feeling a bit off and low and nothing's seems fun anymore?

I used to go on long drives with the music on full blast until it broke down ):

When I'm bored I usually do totally procrastinating stuff - like scrolling on facebook, sitting on this forum, playing solitaire. Or go for a walk and imagine stuff while listening to music. Or call my friends and grumble. Sometimes my mind go into kind-of-maniac-state, which I cannot describe and am not sure what it is. Yet I guess I'm not very bored usually, because most of the time I have too many emotions inside of me.

However, the WORSE boredom I felt was when I was on medication. The pills worked, so I didn't have extreme mood changes, but IT FELT SO EMPTY. Constant nagging feeling that something is lacking. I was bored and frustrated, yet I couldn't feel much (but I was also coping very well).

I'm bored most of the time which has led to drug addiction, hypersexuality, violence, extreme risk taking and thrillseeking etc.. ATM I'm trying to get healthier so no drugs/alcohol or extreme sex. Guess what's left is working full time, training 7 days a week and doing couply stuff with my partner. It works but it'll never feel enough. But, it doesn't have to. Just need enough stimulation to stay out of jail. So I guess my point is that sometimes it's helpful to have low expectations.

Noisy places with many people usually snap me out of it. And drugs, alcohol, parties, sex. Anything to feel active really. Doesn't completely combat boredom, but helps not acknowledging its existence. The slightly uninterested feeling that comes with boredom is almost always there, except when I am high as ###$

When I'm bored I tend to scroll through here and respond to posts I haven't yet gotten to. I also clean sometimes. I may colour for 5/10 minutes. Binge-watch shows. Edit my photography pictures. Scroll through instagram.

A bunch of fairly meaningless stuff honestly. :)
In the summer I tend to take my dog on longer walks to pass the time. I also walk through downtown to try and find the ponies.
