Hey,
So i'm slowly learning how to stay self aware and mindful when having a down moment or when something triggers abandonment fears and also when feeling elated and excess energy. But the pne thing I still cannot stay self aware in is when I have an anger outburst or rage. I still on the moment cannot see past whatever or whoever has angered me in that moment or be conscious that it is just a symptom. Does anyone else still struggle when they see red? Or are you able to stay mindful durong an outburst? if so how?

My temper was terrible as a youngster and I would go from 0-60 in an instant, but it kind of fizzled out with age. I usually detach when I start to get angry and look at it from various angles and it's usually over something trivial, or being angry simply won't be productive. So, yeah, I guess that's kind of mindful.
Righteous indignation is still an issue for me though.

Yes I agree I'm now 30 and whilst the outburts are less frequent, but they do still come with seemingly little warning and are just as uncontrolable and predictable...once its happening i feel almost no control over my actions. And I suppose it is that feeling of indigition that seems to be the fuel...

I don't let rip like I used to and the righteous indignation is something I keep to myself, as it's usually over something petty.
Sorry if this comes across as condescending, but have you tried just removing yourself from a situation when you feel the rage welling up? I just walk away from people sometimes and then have a think about how to deal with the situation constructively once I simmer down.

No it didn't at all! Dont worry

yes I have and always do when possible...I'm talking about times and scenscenarios where that is physically impossible, that is when I go overboard with rage and cannot seem to reason with myself.

What kinds of situations make you lose control like that?

When I was seeing a girl that had BPD I tried saying to her that it was because she was putting herself into situations due to her impulsive behaviour and basically she was easily led and was getting involved with dodgy people. Probably she saw that as me trying to control her but it wasn't that at all and I was just concerned for her.
