What do you fear?

Postby Cyberfang » Wed Mar 23, 2016 7:08 pm

Intelligible title, do you have any phobias/fears? if so:
> what are they?
> how much do they affect you on a daily basis?
> do you know of the precursor?

My most conspicuous phobias include:
- Mysophobia (germs)
- Emetophobia (vomit)
- Altophobia (heights)
- Anablephobia (looking up)
- Arachnophobia (spiders)
- Moths/butterflies

Phobias aside, I dislike loud noises and being touched.
there's no such thing as true good or true evil, its all relative to the observer.

Spiders. I know the cause. They're icky little fockers.

Also, home invasion. I am irrationally afraid of home invasion. For years I would not answer the door if I was home alone. I have no clue where this comes from, but I do not feel safe in my own home because of it. I have vague memories of sexual abuse as a child, though I don't recall who the responsible party was. This might have something to do with it, the safety of "home" isn't something I remember ever having.

I also don't much like being touched. It's not a phobia, I just have a Texas-sized personal space. I can count on one hand how many people I'm comfortable with enough to willingly breech that.

Growing old. By far my worst fear. The way my body feels now, by the time I reach retirement age (which will probably be 70 by then) I'll be in such bad shape physically, someone will have to take me behind the barn and put a bullet in my head.

I figure I can try to squeak out another 15 years then put the bullet home myself after blowing out the candles that say "60" on my birthday cake. Of course, if I can't get back with my wife...which is my 2nd biggest fear...I won't want to wait quite that long. In that case, after my father dies it'll be whenever I finally get sick enough of the world.

I understand some people would find that to be an unhealthy outlook blah blah blah....but I know what my future holds and without a few very important aspects being a certain way, there will be a negative return on satisfaction with my life compared to the inconvenience of living it. I'm fine with my choice.

PTSD-related stuff. Entirely irrational but it is what it is.

Beyond that I really just fear being trapped in a bad situation or life with no way out.

Also centipedes. Hate the little shits. I'm sure they burrow into your flesh and lay their eggs that hatches and eats you from the inside if the mother hasn't eaten you herself yet. PROVE THAT THEY DON'T. HAVE YOU ASKED THEM? DO YOU TRUST A CENTIPEDE?
Strong ASPD traits with NPD/BPD undertones. Sadist, addict, diagnosed PTSD.

Death. That love doesn't exist. Even worse, I'm too blind to see it if it does.

Turophobia, fear of cheese.
I can't work in fast food, refuse to kiss my boyfriend if he's eaten cheese and not brushed his teeth, will force myself to vomit if I accidentally ingest it in food I didn't prepare (and if I haven't found out within an hour I will think about cutting myself open to get it out), can't be within a couple feet of it, will start crying if it touches me, etc.

I guess it's pretty extreme.

It all began with just not liking it. Then people tricked me into eating it. People threw it at me. People showed me their teeth after eating Dorito's. People chased me with it.

Naturally it became a phobia. Sucks to be me. I heard it's pretty good, but that $%^& is out of the question for the rest of my life.

I have an unnatural fear of bears; like if a bear gets loose from the zoo I KNOW he'll make a bee-line straight for my house.

I also have a fear of not being able to move, be it from an accident or being bound in some fashion.

Don't care for scary ass clowns either, but I just get mad at them. lol
