Why Would Anyone Not Want Mental Health?

Postby angelinbluejeans » Wed Mar 02, 2016 3:21 pm

I am just asking, after having cut ties with the individual......why would you not question your own mental health and want to get better?... as this individual I was involved with...

I guess if the individual doesn't believe they are the problem and instead thinks the problem lies with everyone around them. Failure to acknowledge a problem is one reason, ego getting in the way could be another.

Yeah, I agree with Noca. It's all about insight. Why bother changing if you don't think you have a problem?

sanity in a crazy world is social and economical sueside

ppl want others to conformto the idee that everyting is ok
the economic system is not broken
ppl need to live above their means in order to project succes
collective dellusion is the norm
this is an avoidance of the truth that is simular to a pd

I believe that is called Normal Personality Disorder. They are probably the sickest of them all. I really feel sorry for those guys!

Other symptoms include being unable to stop posting pictures of yourself on Facebook and posting about how much you love your family (you're meant to love them, so tell them - not every Tom, Dick and Harry).

Being unable to have a conversation without checking your phone or texting someone every 2 minutes (that was called being rude when I was a nipper).

A preoccupation with social status.

Watching The Voice, X factor or the other latest offering of banal entertainment.

Reading the Daily Mail and agreeing with the opinions held in it.

I could go on...

Yes, it's a real shame, because once people are ready to admit that they have a problem, they can begin to change. I had an ex many years ago and watched him slowly decline into alcoholism. So many people offered to help him (me included), but last I heard of him he was homeless, drunk and sleeping on a friends sofa.

I learned a valuable lesson from that. Sometimes you just have to step back and even cut ties if it's too painful to watch. Ultimately adults are responsible for changing their behaviour. I shouldn't diagnose, but he had strong cluster B traits, but he was a really funny bloke and his heart was in the right place. He's a mess now and looks as though he's on crystal meth (although isn't).

I have BPD traits, but to be honest I find the biggest loss of insight happens during a bipolar episode. I'm lucky enough to have people who care enough to make me get help, but I dread to think where I would have ended up without that. So, I understand how people can lack insight, but I'm responsible for managing my mental health.

take me for example
(my favorit topic/person  )
i have a lack of empathy and emotions
i'm outside the norm
i know i cannot change that
i get my motevation /supply other ways
i've known this sinds like 10 years old
why would i change that?
to bore myself to death?

ps is there a difference between not knowing and not wanting to know for "normies" like you all?

is religion the most exceptable form of crazy?

I guess it really depends on what your definition of "mental health" is. Some of the most "well adjusted" people I know, I also find to be deluded, diluted and overly concerned with the self they project instead of the self they are.

Or is it just me being judgemental again?
I accept and enjoy getting private messages.
