Postby Breaking Good » Thu Jan 14, 2016 5:38 pm

Hey there, which one is harder to unlove? the toxic alpha male or the nice alpha male ( old school gentle man) ?
Obviously toxic but why do you love the toxic alpha male?

I don't like the toxic alpha male type, it's a complete turn off. I want someone who's kind and gentle in a masculine way.

Narcissists aren't Alpha Males, they are fake personality constructs.

To be quite honest they are the exact opposite of what an alpha male is.

Alpha Males are confident, have very strong self esteem, and care and respect about others but only if it's deserved.

NPD have fake confidence, dreadful self esteem (they fake it) and care only about themselves and their image. They are incredibly easy to trigger in social situations, I know a couple of them and you can bring their act crashing down if you simply listen to them drone on about themselves for a bit and figure out what they are projecting as their strengths, then subtly undermine them on it.

They are nothing special, just a good con-man act.

Real Alphas are very, very scarce.

take a look at what animals do that live in group as alpha
they are strong
they take what they want (1st pick of food, 1st pick of females etc)
they usualy protect the pack
but they are never nice

prolbe the best thing to do it to get the seed of an alphamale and to get another to play for it (beta?)

it's a contruct more danger for more power and more responsability

while the others are less danger less responsabilety and less power

to want someone to sacrefice for no reward is unrealistic (counterproductive)

Personally, I'm not convinced the concept of any kind of alpha male is still relevant.

It probably stems from Neanderthal times but we (well most of us anyway) have evolved.

I'd be quite embarrassed to be considered an alpha male in truth. It's all a little backward in my opinion.

I would like to think of myself as an alpha but in reality Im probably an omega. A people pleaser that backs down and avoids confrontation.

With dogs the omega was seen as the lowest rank and was picked on by the others. Recent research shows that the omega is just as important as the alpha and beta. It is the clown and the peace maker. It is the whipping boy that means the rest of the pack don't fall out and turn on each other. In a way it is stronger than the others as it puts up with so much more. It is not necessarily the weakest either it just chooses not to retaliate. I see a lot of myself in that and when I have blown up in the past it has really shocked and sometimes scared people as it just isn't expected of me.

I think a lot of what people consider as alpha males (the strong silent type that puts up with everything thrown at them) are probably more omegas.

Ive worked with some real Alphas (in the army) and most would score highly for ASPD or NPD.
