Passive Aggressive Behaviour

Postby Alice Faust » Tue Dec 15, 2015 2:55 am

I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and...

I realize that I love to say little passive aggressive remarks to rile someone up. Especially people who are close and dear to me...
but as soon as they get mad at me I fear that they're going to leave me so I try to win them back.

It's a vicious cycle and I can't stop myself from doing it even though I acknowledge that I do this?!
I don't know why I do it but I can't help it.

It's partly triggered by my belief that these people are wronging me in some form...
For example, I think that the one dear to me is purposely hiding something from me.
It starts fuelling my need to say passive aggressive things to intentionally get them angry.

Does anyone else do this?
Any tips or share your experience?

I think the only way to stop this behavior is to be mindful of it. Remember that after these remarks, you start fearing abandonment, and that is a very scary experience. It's understandable though, you feel they've wronged you, and you're trying to get back at them. I don't think it's from sadism or something like that.
what a tangled web we unweave, when we practice to just be
