I live in a world where arguments are not valid if they aren't backed up by anything but individual perception. You make a lot of grand claims with nothing to back them up. Therefore it's not a discussion at all. It's a egotistical rant or an excuse to talk about all of your beliefs.
Uggghhh

you are taking graduate classes yes? you know how the pursuit of knowledge is in the social sciences then.
Yes, arguments are based on evidence, but it's aimless.
for every study that merely supports something there is another to not support it.
the goal is the debate, NOT truth or at least: "after considering everything, this is our best answer"
academic research is guided by trends, not progression of real knowledge. and it makes no attempt to provide answers after all that time, money and energy, but rather insists 'the problem is too complex, nothing can be advanced that is certain'
we don't need certainty, research aimed at answering questions that CANNOT be answered without 'science' must provide the best answers possible under the circumstances
not used as a political delaying tactic until the problem is entrenched and unfixable, or pumping out 'unclear findings' to justify ANY policy - of course, which power and vested interests not knowledge will dictate under those circumstances
and the amount of censorship is ridiculous, have you read the front page of the sociological review? the journal won't even accept papers that, I quote
"take their sociological objects for granted, or fail to acknowledge the consequences and politics of the view they are pursuing."

what the hell is outside politics doing in academia?
duuuhhh academic research is POLITICAL and riddled with censorship and misguided by current trends
the only thing it supports are the prejudices of the people like you who enter it, or those who want to validate their view of the world and others and their place in it...or those who just want to build their careers on whatever is in vogue by appealing to pseudo-knowledge
it's crap, ok. this isn't just an imperfection, it makes it worthless and corrupt.
academia can still help you learn how to think and introduce you to some of the issues, but it doesn't represent truth.
few will simply tell you, because everyone has a stake in lying or bending things to suit their purposes.
seldom if ever is truth profitable, and if it is it is merely coincidental
papers and such are a start; they can provoke ideas, but ultimately the only way to test those ideas is look at the present world with your own eyes and if you must history, although very carefully.
