Actually, I am offended by this whole thread. It shouldn't be on here.

You're offended by anything, who-who! :P

I think this thread brought a VERY nice point to be discussed: How BPDs have this two sides to them. One crazy, one sane.

I've really witnessed it. It's not just presentation or internal conflict, either.

Borderline: the state between depersonalization and psychosis.

Some BPDs manage to be both sane and psychotic at the same time. They have this completely different emotional make up tugging at them.

No wonder it feels like possession. Possibly one of the few mental illness to be able to recognize this aspect. Psychotics usually believe what they see/think/hear. Bipolars also lose inner judgement when manic and apart from reality.

Great, then please beg the moderators to delete it (I'm not able to).

My fellow borderlines,

I just wanted to point a few things out, since it is obvious to me that none of you understood the point of my thread (or I didn't word it properly):

- I was NOT making a general statement about the illness. I, as much as anyone else here (BPDs only), understand the illness for what it really is, because I go through it every day and night.
- Demonic possession is just a metaphor I used to describe the illness, because that is EXACTLY what MY experience feels like. Again, not generalizing.
- I was only describing my experience, and wondering if anyone else has felt the same way. My use of the word "you" in my original post does not imply that what I'm saying applies to YOU. It's more like how it's used in "you know ?" or "you get criticized for ....". Get it ?
- I'm a man of science myself, I work as an engineer, and I love science of almost every kind, so I do believe very strongly in science. But, I was criticizing or frustrated at psychiatry for not being able to do a better job of alleviating our suffering and misery.
- I do believe very strongly in God, but I would NEVER IMPOSE my beliefs on others. I NEVER IMPLIED that you must also believe any of the stuff I've said here, and never will.

Bottom line: It was meant to be an open-ended discussion, not propaganda intended to brainwash people or impose my beliefs on them. You are absolutely entitled to your opinion, so it's perfectly ok to say "No, I don't feel this way at all.". That is what I was hoping for. I wasn't hoping to get ostracized and ganged up on.

If you're still not convinced of my intentions, I'm sorry. This is the best I can do to make up for offending y'all.

IMO, when you said the word demonic, it automatically puts forth the image is gargoyle or devil with giant claws, horns, forked tongue and spiked tail. :)

if you say bpd is demonic for the sufferer then that's true. bpd is a challenging ailment to live with.

but i think that most of us have bpd because of toxic parents who either had bpd or npd. so yeah bpd is dangerous to others as well, cause i've seen my rage and if i saw someone direct that rage towards me, then i'd be scared of that person

First off, let me say that I am only self-diagnosed as BPD, and only very recently, and also that it's far from being my only ailment.

Second off, let me also say that for most of my life, on and off, "I feel like I am being possessed by a demon" has been a *highly* accurate way to describe my experience, in the sense that there are times when my thoughts and feelings are so overrun with hopeless and dark thinking that I feel completely out of control of my own brain! :\

man throwing acid on woman who refused to marry him is demonic(bpd or non)
raping a woman is demonic
woman teaching a child by kicking him and beating him in the room is demonic
giving wrong medicine and not owning up to it is demonic
it doesnt matter whether these are nons or not or suffer with some other pd.

if tomorrow i go on killing spree, me having any pd, doesnt give me a reason to do that act.

i have had many violent thoughts on revenge, some have been gruesome, and i am aware that my anger is sometimes demonic and sadistic...but i try to restrict myself.

i agree that folks with any pd can appear dangerous to the outside world and this is ok for me. though i am much in control in my bpd now, i remember how unhealthy i was a year ago.

live and let live...

I agree with this.
Sometimes my revenge thoughts can be very sadistic in nature. I've been known to use psychological suffering as a tool for sadistic revenge more than I have ever lashed out physically though.
I'm grateful for the one's close to me t hat know I'm not a monster. I'm fighting everyday to maintain control. I have to except that some people will never like me and some will always psee me as dangerous no matter how in control I become.

I'm sorry that you were offended. However, you could have chose not to read the thread when you noticed the subject line.
The only thing I think he could have done differently is perhaps put a **trigger warning** in the subject line. Other than that, he isn't breaking any forum rules that I know of.

Thank you, sir/madam !!! It's always good to know I'm not the only one who feels a certain way. Of course, it sucks to feel like you're possessed, but you know what I mean ... I hope :)

YESSSSS ... thanks, Martian ! I admit that I don't know when to put a TW in a post, but I also was pretty confident that I didn't break any forum rules with my content.
