The Positive

Postby thelongerirun » Wed Jun 18, 2014 1:02 am

So we spend a lot of time talking about the negative parts of our childhood and our life, what are some of you positive experiences. Can be from your childhood, or from you life now. Lets throw a little happy in the mix.

Okay....this is a little twist on what you have asked, but I was reminded today of a time (one of the saddest of my life) when, after all the tears, I lived to see the most amazing outcome....a turn of events that seriosly shocked me....and yet how we can truly be blessed...

A little twist is never a bad thing, well not always a bad thing. As long as it turned out positive for you. Seems like we gotta go through some bad to see the good.

What I like is when good things happen when you least expect them...

the positive of being a rambling BPD?

The heights. The ability to inflame hearts and minds on a good day/moment with an unquievering, childlike, spacey enthusiasm.

The seduction. The ability to incarnate just about anybody's desires and make them happen (even if only for a very short time :()

The sensitivity. The ability to feel, sense the people and the atmosphere under the skin, deep down in the guts. Double edge sword. If it beautiful …. but

A rock&roll heart. Fearless and anxious to follow its desires. Ok, not always a good idea, but how sweet at times.

The dream. The ability, sometime, to live inside a dream. Ok, mostly short ones. But … many people never get to experience this

ok, just a few positives. the bad and the ugly … for another post

Those can all be positive things. They can also be negative. I know I'm guilty of using them the wrong way on more than one occasion. Blackcat do you have any moments that were really great? Thats kinda what I was asking. It's a therapy thing im working on, remembering the good moments, and not clinging to the bad so much.

Like for me I remember once when my dad took me and my younger half brother to these waterfalls. I cant remember how old I was really. I do remember we just parked in these peoples yard, he asked if he could of course. Then we hiked a few miles back into the woods and it opened up to this huge waterfall and pond looking thing. We got to swim and just have fun. I dont have many like that from when I was little, but that is a good one.

yes, the longerirun, I have been to general. Can I remember the good things? uhhmmm, you got me. I am going through hell at the moment. Ok. Good exercise.

driving through poland. a car full of alcohol and drugs. we are all high, me on the highest happy moment. The one in which you are totally madly in love and invincible and HIGHER than the sky. In my case, it meant being 23 or so and madly in love with a 47 years old misunderstood belgian bipolar  artist. Tripping on acids. We are stopped by mean looking weirdos (wow, thank god we were normal  ) . My wonderful BPD innocence and incoscience manages to turn a very bad mishap in a friendly greeting. Jubilation. Being madder than the mads can come in handy sometime. All polish right wing extremists stopping us, at the end, took some beers, looked a bit puzzled. Laughted and went.

Not much of a story. I must admit. But, yes. Moments of happiness. Everytime I love and idealize and live the dream. Even if it is short. Amazing. Purely divine. To hell with the mess afterwards.
