I was only tested at the same time that I was first diagnosed as BPD at 16. I'm now 43. They tested me twice since they doubted the first results. Numbers I don't remember but the summary went something like this:
"Very high superior intelligence, borderline genius but lacking knowledge."
They also went on to say that it was likely that my true IQ was even higher due to the stresses and circumstances that I was currently going through... through the court systems, being removed from my family, juvenile hall, becoming a ward of the court and put in a group home, etc, etc.
My life has continued on that roller coaster ever since then and I never accomplished anything with that potential, some my fault, some the systems fault... but mostly due to the fact that my BPD has gone neglected by those who were in a position to treat it, but didn't, choosing instead to focus exclusively on treating one symptom of it or another. I'll stop ranting now.
From the little I've read about BPD, most BPD's have very high IQ's. I highly recommend treating the BPD as soon as you can so it won't interfere with you realizing most of your vast potential. From my own personal experience, it will most definitely stop you from realizing any of your potential if neglected for too long.
