It's probably different for everyone, but I haven't had terrible experiences with cannibis. I will say that I do tend to get moderately depressive/irritable for 1-2 days afterward, but it hasn't affected me badly while using it (unless I had too much, in which case the usual nausea, room spinning, and eventually going to sleep occurred). It should probably be okay, but it's always going to be somewhat risky when introducing a new substances to your body, as there's no predicting exactly how you'll repond. Just make sure someone is with you, you feel safe beforehand, and watch for symptoms of a crash (or upswing, but that seems less likely). Also, some people get paranoid using it, so watch out for that.

I haven't had any issues with taking it. I do know that some people have adverse reactions to it as Lexicon stated such as paranoia and anxiety.

Oh, man...I miss weed. It would always pick me up. I'd laugh until my sides ached.

I did it probably 30 times or so. I stopped because I don't like gaining weight from all the eating and whenever I did it I was exhausted the next day. I have depression so I'm ALREADY tired and unmotivated. HA HA HA!

I used to smoke quite a lot of weed and it messed with my head tho I did not realise at the time. In retrospect it affected my mood and made me psychotic. I was also taught at uni that of all street drugs it is the one most likely to cause problems and/or precipitate mental illness. Esp if the weed is strong - eg skunk. Everyone is different and you may be fine but it can cause problems and I think it is worth bearing that in mind.

I used a ton to self medicate away depression, anxiety and mania. Only to have it cause more issues. In the end it wrecks me. Afterward I'm irritable, cranky, depressed and paranoid. To get through that, only to do it all over again (expecting different results) is the definition of insanity. That's my story. I used for over 30 years. It hurt me more than helped (and that's hard to admit, because I love it). But bad is bad.

Probably safe. But not 100%, I'd say. I'd say the same about alcohol, though.

I found that if I was depressed, it would usually make the depression worse for a couple of days after. If I was in a normal state of mind, it might just be fun or it might make me feel depressed. If I'm in a stable period of life, it is usually just relaxing and fun.

But in a nutshell, I'd be careful about depression, I think, though I have the exact same problem with alcohol. It affects everyone differently, it seems.

Also strangely enough, in my experience the cannabis plant has a weird way of making you fall in love with it.

I don't know how true it is but my shrink told me that smoking weed could push me over the edge into schizophrenia.

I smoke quite a bit because I have trouble eating and sleeping and for me it helps. I agree that everyone is different and if you are going to try it be careful and be in a safe place for at least two-three hours. Also eating it takes much longer to come on so do not consume too much. It is so easy to use too much and get too high when you are eating marijuana and not smoking it.

I've never tried any recreational drugs, so I can't really chime in on how it would affect you. But I know that my personal opinion is to stay away from such drugs when one is on psychiatric medication and/or has mental illness. I wouldn't want to risk having an adverse reaction or having my mental illness made worse. The few reports that come out of people developing mental illness after doing drugs is scary, so I can imagine how it could make those of us that already have mental illness even worse.

So, I'll just saying to be careful with this.
