agitated depression Vs a mixed episode

Postby Bettyboop » Sun Oct 14, 2012 5:23 pm

ok so I'm aware that if you have a mixed episode you will get a BP1 diagnosis
But if you have agitated depression with racing will you get a BP1 diagnosis?

I am just trying to work out exactly what a 'mixed' episode is.

Can you guy advise me?

I would say that agitated depression plus racing is a mixed episode but that would be a professional call. But to me racing implies being high and coupled with depression suggests a mixed episode.

How are you feeling?

See now I have had "Agitated depression" and been high with racing thoughts.

I think the term Agitated depression needs to be clarified big time. At one point that was my diagnosis, not bipolar or anything just "Agitated depression" Then again saying that it too nearly four more years to get past that.

Yeah, really needs clarification something terrible.

I have had two instances of a mixed episode. Basically I felt grandiose, thinking I have substantial more ability in many different areas at once. I had the ability to diagnose myself, and the doctors didn't know what they were doing.

At the same time, I was sick of living this way. I hated my life. And I KNEW that an afterlife was waiting for me that was more fitting than living. I wanted to die.

Also, my head felt very strange. My brain felt like it was pulling itself apart.

That is the best way I can describe it.

That about sums up my mixed episodes as well...Lately they have been very bad and leaning almost toward a depressive episode.
As for your head feeling strange...mine feels like its a balloon filling up, almost ready to pop...i get so agitated at the pressure feeling that I'll trigger a rage episode that I cope with laying down somewheres quiet
