Hey,
I got a question & I want to know who you say my mom is Bipolar or something else. Please post your comments.
My mom has been talking to herself my whole life. She don't see other people she just carry on a conversation by herself or speak out loud about her thoughts or comments on something. This is so hard to explain. When I catch her talking to herself her voice tone changes and she uses had expresssions. When I confront her about it she gets angry as hell and say stuff life "mind your own damn business", "i'm not talking to myself i'm singing a song" or she'll just say something rude.
Somedays she's happy as a clown other days she really angry, loud, and rude and snappy about anything. She has a real quick temper then 5 min later she's happy like nothing happened. On her ill spasms she verbally abuse and says hurtful things.
My head hurts at times because she gets so loud and talks or be ill non stop. Somedays I don't know my own mother. Okay I think I covered the basics, somethings may come back to me later. I just would like someone opinion.

Your mother may be bi-polar. She is similarly in that her emotions can change in an instant, such as from in a rage to feeling peaceful and calm. It's very difficult to understand, but in my opinion, when she says mean and hurtful things, she doesn't really mean it as her state of mind prohibits her from thinking how her words might affect you.

toto, I certainly don't know why your mother talks to herself and her mood changes but there may be other explanations than bipolar. Even if she doesn't "see" people, perhaps she hears them in her head and is responding to those auditory perceptions. Also, women can be just plain moody according to their hormonal cycles. It may be that she has just developed a habit of talking with herself to help herself sort out whatever problems she feels she is dealing with at the time. She could just be extremely moody during part of her hormonal cycle and talking to herself helps to "talk herself down" into remaining somewhat calm during these times. Your best bet is to try to be understanding of her moodiness and mindful not to provoke her raging at you. By all means, if it becomes abusive, mentally or physically, you should talk to someone about it - a school counselor or a pastor perhaps. Good luck with your mom and her moods.
