I am diagnosed Bipolar II and havent yet gotten on a modd stabalizer~me and my family doctor are woking on that but does anyone have any suggestions about how to help calm down or somewhat control the angry mood swings?
My husband has been soooo wonderful and he's trying to be patient~i think hes just happy that we know whats finallt going on but I know it hurts him when one minute Im happy and he says something or looks at me oddly and I flip out!! For no reason~I hate it but when Im in that mode, I just don't care what Im saying & I can get pretty mean~I regret it after but dont know how to control it or at least bite my tounge so any advice anyne can give me is soo appreciated!!

Yes, exercise and try to sleep well. I laughed at what you wrote because I know exactly what you're saying......except I didn't have anyone who supported or stayed by me. The best way to deal with your mood swings is listen to the people around you and read their body language. Even when my mood swings are the worst I still have the sanity to realize how the world is turning. Take a look around and if there's no escaping your "peak" or "valley" then leave. Don't stray far though, you just may need your partner.

It helps my boyfriend if I tell him I'm feeling whacko, and to ignore what I'm saying. Sometimes I can give that sort of warning, even if it's after I've said mean things. He can usually tell when I'm in one of my moods, and that helps, just him knowing it's not him. Sometimes sleeping for a half hour or so or watching a TV show for a few minutes makes me feel better. But I can't always make myself do those things...
