Mania

Postby Siii » Mon Aug 22, 2005 10:29 am

Hi

I have bi-polar in my family (uncle and aunties) but I haven't really talked to them about it. I was put in hospital recently for like a month because I was manic. I was diagnosed with bi-polar but they think it was also drug enduced (the mania)

I have only been manic this year and I have twice - I was given medication to bring me back to 'normal' each time (first time I was tricked. by being told to take some 'sleeping pills' that turned out to be bi-polar/schitzophrenia medication)

I really hate being 'normal' and want to become manic again. (heaps of energy, enthusiasm, motivation, not needing much sleep, confidence, ideas, and just feeling gooooooooood)
How I got like it was from taking alot of Dextromethorphan and then exercising, eating alot, and a really positive attitude.

Are there techniques to become Manic? or is it just genetics?

I think I mean hypomania which is more mild.
Because when I was manic I couldn't comprehend technology and got really freaked out. And the second time I thought I was ment to be the next Jesus

ive read people relating to mania simply as the best drug in the world. if i could be in that state the rest of my life id do it in a heartbeat. i created my own universe and i could suddenly handle any problem. i guess the price to pay is depression. ive heard antidepressants can actually trigger mania, but ur just playing with fire my friend.

yeah, if I could bottle mine I'd make a fortune. The mania that is.

the med they probably gave you was an antipsychotic, when people are in manic state, not hypo but a 10 on the scale they take measure to prevent psychosis, but beware some of the side affects aren't worth it, do your homework before agreeing to any meds, at www.rxlist.com or www.webmd.com( a shortcut to webmd, is
www.google.com, type in the med.

I have a list that I bring home and do my homework then I try them only if they are safe, and no weight gain. Or rubber feelings. I also get samples to prevent unneeded cost for a med I throw in a drawer due to side affects, I actually have a drug store here.

Take good care, ddee, 7
