I'm 28, was diagnosed as bp about 2 1/2 yrs ago. Looking back I'm pretty sure it surfaced when I was a freshman in high school. During the summer between my 8th and 9th grade year, I had a seizure and was diagnosed with juvenile epilepsy. I grew out of it but I'm wondering if somehow there is a connection since they both involve problems with the brain. I know they're two different causes within the brain , but still wonder if they're related or if it's a coincidence. I realize we're not doctors here, just wondering what you guys think of it. Also I have an auto-immune disorder, myasthenia gravis, that I was diagnosed with when I was in 7th grade. I don't feel that it is related but think it's crazy that I have three conditions(well two now).
Thanks for your thoughts and opinions!

No, I am not a doctor, but in my opinion...
1. Some forms of epilepsy have very similar symptoms to Bipolar. TLE, for example.
2. Many medications are used to treat both diseases. Lamotrigine, for example.
3. Some psychologists are starting to classify Bipolar and ADHD as forms of Epilepsy.
No-one really knows the exact causes of Bipolar, but I think it is fair to say that there is often a connection between them.
