Symbyax advice please

Hello, I'm new to this board and hope some of you can share some advice with me?
I was told last week I'm Bipolar and started Symbyax 6mg/25mg,Day 4 today and feeling better,I noticed Olanzapine being in this pill and is a Trade name of others with the health risks of diabetes since it has a tendency to change blood sugars and cause obesity?
I've been on Prozac in the past,and sleeping became a promlem for me so I stopped.
Ouestion: I have a follow next week to see how I'm doing on Symbyax with all meds there are side effects and I accept that to some degree.How ever I'm very over weight 5'2 208 pounds with high risk of Diabetes on both sides of family.Both of my parents have died from complications of diabetes this just recent What other meds might I advise the doc I could go on that may have helped others out there for Bi polar?Does prozac alone help without the other?I know nouthing about Bi polar meds please advised me on other resources or what should I be asking doctor for that has helped others out there.

Most bipolar meds have the weight gain side effect, but if you just watch your eating or exercise a little more you'll dodge that... and the exercise is good for the bipolar too.

Uhm... I'd recommend Lamictal and Trileptal (take one or the other) They're anti-seisure meds, and while the lamictal didn't help me, the trileptal did until I got tremors...

I mess with my meds though, so don't let my downfall stop you.
They're a good family of meds with low risk side effects if taken properly.

Prozac treats the sad but not the mania... so it's variable to how dramatic your mania is.
