Same happened to me on depakote. My appetite was through the roof. Decided to switch to Trileptal which has stabilized me. It has OTHER side effects. But for now I can live with them. Watch what you’re eating is all I can say.

Lithium didn't give me this problem, but other ones did. I take wellbutrin, it didn't counteract the weight issues, but it did give me help with the depression mood swings. Wellbutrin is actually supposed to help you lose weight. That's what I heard anyway. You'd have to ask your doctor about this. Good luck! I know how hard it is to be on all these meds that do help you, but have side effects such as these.

Lithium didn't affect my weight very much, but right now I'm on 3 meds that all cause weight gain and am struggling with it. Definitely bring it up to your pdoc because there are some meds you can take to counteract it (topamax, wellbutrin, metformin)
All I saw was the Devil's soul
And it looked a helluva lot like my own
