slightly manic and weird things

Postby barnowl » Wed May 22, 2019 8:10 pm

Hi, Im so glad to find this forum. I have no one to talk to and dont know what to do at the moment .
I have bipolar type 2. It has always been more depression symptoms, and it was only when I had a short episode and thought I could fly, that I was diagnosed !

Anyway I have a number of physical health problems and a few weeks ago I was in hospital on IV steroids and then oral steroids, and they sent me manic. I was full of energy, couldn't stop doing things, walking miles, going pointless places back and forwards, talking fast etc. Then after a week I was ok again I think but still not sleeping well. If i take a sleeping pill i sleep maybe 5 hours, if i don't i sleep literally an hour max.
the last couple of days i have been up again. Cant stop singing and dancing, bored all the time but cant concentrate on anything and dont know what to do with myself.
Also weird noises and cameras everywhere (literally there were, but sometimes I just think there are), animals, and today actually heard voices in my head - not telling me to do anything but weird.

I have never been high for this long, and i dont know why im like this, ive been taking my meds, nothings changed, usual stress. do you find you can explain why? what do you do when you're so bored ?

Have you called your pdoc yet? If you haven't, I strongly recommend doing so ASAP because the weird noises, cameras, and voices are a sign of psychosis and things can go very wrong very fast.
I'm not a doctor, but it sounds like the steroids have something to do with it. Are you still taking them? Sometimes episodes don't have an obvious trigger, sometimes it's just the seasons changing and sometimes it's nothing.
It's really all a meds game, *hugs* I hope you get better fast.
As for what to do when your bored, just find something that passes the time. For me it's looking at maps, that's how I get through my hospitalizations.
All I saw was the Devil's soul
And it looked a helluva lot like my own

thanks. my pdoc is away but I spoke to her before she went. she thinks it is to do with taking steroids before still.
im better now in that im not high, but now im really depressed, and I stopped my antidepressant and probably made me feel worse. I have no one to talk to, no friends, and feel so alone and like whats the point in my life .

I don't think I'm breaking rules about medical advice (newbie) when I say... if you are still feeling this way, please go to an emergency room or call a *mod edit*. Tell them all you shared above, please. Best wishes.

...ago...

Reason: Only a personal psychiatrist can diagnose or take care of a patient and fully know their history of their bipolar disorder. An online psychiatrist cannot be trusted to actually be who they say they are.

hi, barnowl!
how are you doing now? found the cause of the weird sounds? it happened to me, too. at first I thought it was 'causr the pills, but then it turned out to be an anxiety disorder. this was a harbinger of prolonged panic attacks. so it's a good thing you're keeping an eye on your health. I hope you're all right.
are you still alone? sounds like $#%^. although, me, too, not with whom to talk to the, so I and has found this forum. if you want - answer.
Oh, and hello ago. you seem pretty friendly and sympathetic.
