http://www.mentalhealthamerica.net/melatoninMood disturbances, paranoia, psychosis, etc. It fits. For nearly a decade I've been getting those symptoms, and for nearly a decade I've been taking melatonin. It's a rather unique altering of ones consciousness, but I can't warn against it more. The paranoia alone has caused me to get into too many dangerous situations.
Has anyone else been through this?

I've been through this. The solution is 100mg zoloft, 2mg Ativan, 3mg Melatonin (the kind with such and such added for stress relief), in this order (dawn to dusk).

The idea you can take certain psychoactive drugs forever is bs; no matter the fit, the degree of neuroadaptivity will always be a problem. Better used as longer-term PRNs (say up to 6 months or a year) and there being more focus on lifestyle measures.
