I've been taking Abilify for 7 months and it worked, but sadly I started getting The Twitch ™. It's not the worst ever, it's rarely visible and doesn't go on all day, but I'm forcing my psychiatrist to let me go off the stuff. (He says that the twitch isnt worth going off a med that works but honestly he doesn't understand how terrifying it is. I'm scared it'll get worse and it already is uncomfortable and embaressing.) What's your guys' experience with going off Abilify and/or tardive dyskenisia?? I just decreased my dose by half (10 mg to 5 mg. I was originally on 15 but decreased to 10 quite slowly, so him suggesting I half it was a surprise.) Did you guys get withdrawal symptoms? Should I expect them? (I would've asked my psychiatrist all this but we made this decision over the phone and he's quite busy so I was eager to hang up and let him go about his day.)

If I was coming off an anti-psychotic, I would want to be stable, do it slowly, be on a mood stabilizer, and have klonopin for anxiety/insomnia.
Be kind to everyone you come across because you never know who’s suffering inside.

Thank you for the tips! I will talk to my psychiatrist about all this.

Good luck. I got that twitching with Lithium and it pretty much went away eventually. I did well on Abilify, but it definitely is different for you. How are you doing now?
