So as some of you might know, I am on Latuda and Sodium Valproate. My psych recommended Latuda and I was already taking depakote to deal with mania. The Latuda has been working superbly for me with the exception of some akathisia and drowsiness that comes and goes, usually in the morning.
So I suggested to be off depakote since I feel the latuda controls my symptoms pretty well. My psych agrees as long as I finish this month's supply of depakote. Anyone have experience with coming off depakote. What symptoms should I look out for?

Most meds you want to do a slow taper or your manic or depressive symptoms may return. Although your Latuda should be helpful.
I would want to use a benzo like Valium or Klonopin to take off the anxiety depending on how severe the withdrawal symptoms are if there are any at all.
It depends on how long you've been taking Depakote. I only took it for a little while so I didn't notice any problems dropping it. I actually felt better.
You may want a mood stabilizer and an antipsychotic if you want to be the most stable although there are more side effects. If you don't like Depakote for whatever reason there's Lithium or Lamictal.
Be kind to everyone you come across because you never know who’s suffering inside.
