Hi D,

I've only really tried medication. After my mixed-manic episode, i was immediately put on lithium and an anti-psychotic. Working out helps, but i'm sure it helps everyone not just those with BP.

Something that really helps my symptoms of both BP and AsPD is socializing. When i get in my head too much, i wind myself up and start to think that borderline crazy ideas are rational and necessary. Having other people to bounce ideas around with and to help ground you is key, for me.

That said, therapy helps as well. My therapist pointed out i was hypomanic this spring before i even realized it, and i'm usually first to pick up on it. She also challenges me a lot and tries to make me take therapy more seriously by saying things such as, "You're going to kill someone some day!", which obviously is something we want to avoid.

This forum is nice in that it can help reap the benefits that normal socializing would, but in the comfort of your own home. I've been here since november, and i really value the unique ideas and peer support that this place offers.

So with that all said, i haven't really tried much to help BP aside from what i already outlined. Your supplement idea sounds interesting, but honestly meds just work on me. I feel fine as is.

I don't want to get complacent, though.

@Delta - Like I mentioned before, be careful with the supplements. You said you are on two meds for your mental illness. Have you looked up interactions with the supplements and whatever meds you are taking?

I mention this because there are a lot of interactions with meds. For instance, I can't take birth control pills because of an interaction with Lamotrigine. I take Meclizine for my chronic vertigo and that has a mild interaction with the Lamotrigine. And I was on Latuda for quite some time which has interactions with grapefruit, so I didn't eat it (which sucked because I love it).

I don't mean to sound redundant, but some things could have serious interactions.
Bipolar I | GAD
Lamotrigine - 400 mg | Clonazepam - 1 mg
