Thanks for your kind words, Jellybeanery. I still get anxious, quite rightly, about my situation, but am no longer waking up early, feeling sick to my stomach, as I was. I'm so glad things have calmed down for you, too.
I don't think anyone would like to hear that they've got the 'worst' form of a serious mental disorder, so I think partly that your (and my) reactions are justified, but if focussing more on treating the symptoms and improving functioning is probably more helpful than zero-ing in on just the label(s). Easier said than done, I know, as I still get upset about my dual diagnosis of GAD and bipolar affective disorder.
