Do any of you feel like your cycling daily?

Postby Sugarqueen79 » Mon Jan 15, 2018 5:40 pm

I was diagnosed with type 2 years ago. I've been doing fine, I'm compliant with my meds.

A few weeks ago I took a course of Tamiflu. On day 5 I started to feel depressed. Since then I'm in a pattern, 2 or 3 good days and then one day of torture. The one day starts out feeling a bit overwhelmed, that turns into sadness, hopelessness and low energy several hours later I also start to feel anxious, agitated and fidgety. Unable to get comfortable or concentrate on anything.

I go to bed feeling this way and wake up feeling fine the next day. I will then feel fine for 2 or 3 days and then another bad day hits.

What is this?? What is going on?

I take Lamictal 200 mg, Effexor XR ( for an anxiety disorder) and Latuda 20 mg.

I saw my Pdoc the first week of December. I was fine then.

I will say I've had a lot of anxiety and worry in the last few months. I haven't asked for extra meds to deal with it, or a med change. I've been "getting by"

Maybe that has compounded into whatever this is I'm experiencing now?

Ideas? Advice?

I have bipolar 1, and this has happened to me once, a few months ago. I was horribly depressed, with spurts of mania thrown about, and extreme anxiety. It lasted about a month or so. I ended up going inpatient at the psych ward because of suicidal thoughts I almost acted on.

The only advice I could give is talk to your pdoc about it.
Bipolar I | GAD
Lamotrigine - 400 mg | Clonazepam - 1 mg

This does happen to me every now and again, too. Last year about this time, I had a rapid cycling (every hour to every three hours) where I was going from depressed to manic. This lasted for a month. I'm still on the same medication, and it hasn't happened again. I stuck with my medication because I like the side effect (or lack of side effects, you could say). I also like that it helped me for years before that happened. It happened one other time for about three weeks, but I honestly can't remember when that was  Either way, you are not alone, and you can get through this. We had a Site Administrator here, named Oliveira. He also went through this, and was rapid cycling, like me. He was stuck with it for about the same period I was, and he too got over it.

There are a couple things you could do though to maybe help make it go away. If you don't think your medication is working, maybe call your psychiatrist and talk to them about it. Are you able to get to your psychiatrist easily? Another thing you could do, and this is kind of extreme, I know, but if you can't handle it anymore - for whatever reason, you could maybe try going to a hospital. That should always be your last resort, but if it gets to bad, it's always there.

Hope you can get through this. It's tough, I know, but you can do it. Stay strong.

Thanks for the feedback!

The last few days I've just been depressed. Sad, hopeless, easily agitated, frustrated:(

I see my therapist tomorrow. I will probably end up calling my PDoc tomorrow also.
