Did someone discover a cure for Bipolar and not tell me?

Postby skilsaw » Tue Jan 09, 2018 7:28 pm

A couple years ago, there was constant chatter on this forum. It was a life line to me. People who I understood (I think) who also seemed to understand me. I wasn't alone.

Now nobody is here. Everybody got the cure but I was left out. I guess I'm going to go out in the garden and eat worms. Either that or people are struggling alone.

Let's chat. I need you. You are not alone.
We can bare our souls here. It's safe and anonymous. Nobody is going to read what you put down and then smirk when they see you on the street.

There.
Just do it.
It is not always possible to make someone's discomfort go away.
Sometimes, the best thing we can do is resist the urge to fix it and instead just say, "You, too?"

Naw we're here. It has quieted a bit. I suspect some have been trying to do grandiose New Year's resolutions, which cause them to be a bit too busy to post. Give it time, and most will likely lose interest in the resolutions.

I find all the forums here are quiet, I mean not just bipolar but the other diagnoses I relate to too. It makes me want to not post because no one is listening anyways which makes it even more quiet!

Still could be people trying to get off the forums to turn over some new sorta leaf. Maybe they're trying not to trigger themselves or something. I say keep posting (if nothing else in the "Just for Fun" Off Topic forums, and eventually folks will join in.

This specific forum specifically fluctuates more than any other forum on the site that I'm aware of. One week or more, we'll be getting a lot of replies, people will be making threads, new users will be coming in, and old timers may or may not need help, but it also has it's down times, like it has been for the past couple weeks. I agree with Holodeck, it's probably because of the holidays. There are some other forums that do get quite a bit of traffic regularly, but this forum goes up and down a lot. I think it also has to do with the nature of the diagnosis itself. It's episodic, and sometimes, when Bipolar individuals are feeling fine, they won't come here.

Yeah I've noticed it's been super quiet... I was away for maybe a year before becoming active again. It was actually a rough year so it's not as if I was well and just didn't need the place. I was quite unwell actually... frantically trying to get a 3 month manic episode under control. I just forgot about getting support here... but yeah I'm back. I read everything, started a few new posts a while back. It's a little discouraging, the quiet. But I'm here.

Also I've been using a journal as a brain dump, so maybe I feel less need to post or respond. Maybe I get all my thoughts out about my disorder there and don't feel the need to repeat myself. Ill stop that

I’m here. My dad died in November and I was his sole caretaker...my bipolar is ever present...I just don’t know what to type, sometimes, these days. I’m depressed and I have trouble expressing it.

I like the idea of us interacting more.

Hi Skilsaw!

I have been thinking my diagnosis was wrong for the last year or so as everything’s been fine. Hence not posting. But now everything has fallen apart so here I am again, feeling stupid again. How are you? What’s been going on?
That's what life's about man, good times, a little salad.

That's a page out of my book too.
The trouble with leaving something behind, we have to fill the void. This is a safe place.
Glad I am not alone.
Thanks.

I like to pretend I don't have Bipolar most of the time. I don't think it defines me at all. This website kind of reminds me that I have it. Although it is helpful when I need it.
