Anxiety

Postby NotAsCrazyAsIThought » Sat Jan 06, 2018 6:21 pm

In the thread about physical exercise , some people brought up that they sometimes get anxiety.

Do you feel anxiety and anxiety related stuff? (Even out of exercise).
Like panic attacks , social anxiety , OCD , etc.

Also how do you differentiate anxiety from hypomaniac? Do they always come together for you?
I come from a place where my language works very differently from english. Forgive me if I sound confusing or if I misunderstand anything.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if I had some sort of an anxiety disorder. I get anxious all the time. Not when manic, or hypo, or anything. I just get anxious about almost everything. About meeting new people, about work, about life, I'm just an anxious person all around. It runs in my family.

I'm a pretty chill person and an introvert. Intense talkative people and social events wear me out quickly although I do enjoy them in small doses. Negative people really bring me down just like positive people make me ecstatic. I coped with marijuana and alcohol in high school to relax. I was a nervous wreck in middle school from anxiety. It's an awkward stage and kids are weird and mean. High school was more fun and so was college and now being an adult I have less anxiety. I think that if I had gotten help in middle school I would have been better off now. I knew nothing about psychology or even what anxiety meant.
Be kind to everyone you come across because you never know who’s suffering inside.

Anxiety and hypomania are very different beasts, but they can occur concurrently.

Tell us more about what you are experiencing.
How are you feeling?
Anxiety - or worrying - is about something... What are you anxious about?

It can be anything, real and immanent, or abstract and hypothetical.

For instance I can be anxious about missing the bus to get to work. Which leads to worrying about my job which leads to worrying about being fired and then being evicted and becoming homeless, ultimately dying of a drug overdose in an alley. And then Who will feed my cat? That's Anxiety... Also called catastrophising... making a catastrophe out of something small.

The answer is so simple. Catch the bus and then the cat will be fed...Life is good. But Anxiety controls us.
It is not always possible to make someone's discomfort go away.
Sometimes, the best thing we can do is resist the urge to fix it and instead just say, "You, too?"
