Middle of the night and here I am.

Postby skilsaw » Tue Jan 02, 2018 10:43 am

After a rather depressing and unproductive New Year's Day I went to bed at 8:00 pm. Unusual because although I sometimes nap in the evening, I am usually up past midnight.

Few hours of horrible, dark, restless sleep with black thoughts.

Coming here is good. I won't wait for a reply because I think my head has quieted down and I can go back to bed. I have a couple favorite radio stations for the middle of the night. I'll see what cooking around the world.

Goodnight,

New Year's Eve, I was up till 3am, New Year's Day I went to bed at 10pm with the help of a sleeping aid. I have been miserable with a cold.

I'm so sorry your New Year's was depressing and unproductive.

I've been cooped up at home with this cold, but the hubby has been really sweet and kind with helping me out in many things like cooking and cleaning. Okay, he doesn't cook, he gets take out, but that counts as "cooking,"

How has your morning been?

Today is today....
I'm working slowly on a fun project. Actually I'm listening to 1960's Rock and Roll and playing on the computer while I let Spar Varnish Dry. Six hours between coats. live in a one bedroom apartment and love to fill my living room and dining table with projects. Rebuilding or overhauling bicycles for friends... Crazy crafty stuff and woodworking... I have grow lights over of about 60 potted geranium cuttings that I took from the garden before the frost...

I've withdrawn from life pretty much. I'm in hibernation mode. Hiding away... I've done this before. This is how I recharge my batteries.

Yes, recharging your batteries. Sometimes we must do that.

You sound like you have some pretty cool projects going on. I like the grow lights over the potted geranium cuttings. Do you have your own garden?

I live in a condominium with 14 suites. A couple of us look after some of the nicer easy tasks... shoveling snow, bedding plants in the garden, changing light bulbs in the common areas. We have a gardener that mows the grass, rakes the leaves, prunes the shrubs... It gives me the feeling of really living here, making it my home. Also, calling a contractor to change a light bulb would cost a ridiculous amount.

I have a strawberry planter and Tomato plants on my balcony.

Watching things grow is nourishes the soul.
