Hi Hyde,
Can you share this with your Dr? On the one hand it's very common I've found (on this forum and in life) for those diagnosed with Bipolar to question it sometimes. I certainly have. And I think it's probably a good thing for anyone to question their diagnosis at some point. On the other hand maybe a second opinion would be good?
Im curious about what you mean when you say "multiple emotions (depression, anxiety, hypomania, etc." To my knowledge hypomania is not an emotion in and of itself... more of a mood state that can include emotions such as anger, irritation, frustration, joy, elation, exhilaration etc.
For me, having some BPD traits along with Bipolar means I sometimes have trouble figuring out if I'm in a mood episode, or if I've been triggered. Emptiness usually follows my getting angry for instance, and I don't usually attribute the emptiness to depression for example. It's nearly always a reaction to something happens. And lasts about 4 hours. My mood episodes ramp up slowly and are consistent day to day. Just thinking out loud... What would it mean if you had both diagnoses?
