In crisis and therapist out of town

Postby littlewing » Mon Oct 23, 2017 6:36 pm

I'm sinking into a pretty serious depressive episode and my therapist is out of town until 11/6. I called and emailed a low-cost counseling center but no response yet. I feel pretty desperate. I'm not at the point of calling a crisis line or 911 but I thought I would reach out here so at least I don't feel completely alone.

Not sure if I can help much, but if you ever feel the need to vent or whatever you can pm me. Sorry you're having such a tough time,

Thanks Holodeck. I hate how unpredictable these episodes are. I'm trying to reach the text crisis hotline and my texts keep failing.

I finally got through to the crisis text line. It helped a little. I also made an appointment at the local low-cost clinic since my therapist doesn't get back until 11/6. My appointment isn't until Monday though. :? I guess once you say you don't have an active suicide plan you become less of a priority.

I thought I was more stable lately but I guess not. I hate how these episodes come down on me like a tornado.

Personally I never go to a therapist for a crisis, always pdoc or ER if it's bad because usually medication changes are needed.
Be kind to everyone you come across because you never know who’s suffering inside.

Good point. I'm not sure what else we can change with my meds. I feel like we've tried everything.

My pdoc has mentioned Lithium as a last resort because it could complicate other health issues I have.
