A diagnosis for bipolar 2 only requires a single hypomanic episode that lasts for four or more days and a depressive episode if I recall. So yes.

ICD in short
Type 1 bipolar disorder refers to a state of depression and mania or mixed episodes. In addition, this type is classified with rare situations in which the patient is detectable only by recurrent mania episodes.
Type 2 Bipolar Disorder is a condition in which patient has been diagnosed with depressive states and hypomania. In case of just one manic episode, the condition is diagnosed as a type 1 disorder.
If it is a first hypomanic or manic episode and no previous depression has been established, a single hypomania or mania period is diagnosed.
Sorry about possible lost in translation.
Dx: Bipolar II
