Scared of developing a comorbid personality disorder

Postby antisocialsocialclub » Sun Oct 01, 2017 5:38 am

I'm really worried lately I picked up NPD traits from my 2 exes with NPD. I debated posting this in the NPD forum but I guess my actual question is for Bipolars...

Do you ever worry your BP disorder will develop into a PD as well? Or rather, cause one?

The thought never crossed my mind. But it is possible to have both bipolar and BPD together (or any other PD in general).

It's amazing how personality disorders go undiagnosed but Bipolar is usually pretty obvious to a psychiatrist. I think it's easier to tell someone they're Bipolar than that they have a personality disorder. I have some narcissistic and avoidant tendencies but I would be offended if someone told me I did. Bipolar was a welcome diagnosis and it's like it all makes sense now.
Be kind to everyone you come across because you never know who’s suffering inside.

I am definitely avoidant but I think I should probably put this worry to rest. My bad experiences in the past are very much related to my avoidant tendencies.
