So, is it a fact that if I do it quicker than reccomended I will automatically get Steven Johnson?
Is it possible to do it faster than they reccomend but still raise it slowly?
I just want to get better. That's all I want more than anything in the world

My diagnosis is recent, by the way, so I have always been prescribed SSRI In the past that didn't work. So, I am very excited to feel what this med could maybe do for me

Please be careful and follow your doctor's orders. I had a bad allergic reaction to this drug and had to be taken off it immediately. If you do anything, consult your doctor first. The experience was scary.

It's just that I know the dr will tell me no and take a conservative approach

Taking it quickly raises your risk. If you want to take that chance it is your choice but I don't recommend it. It could be fatal..

Yeah, but what're the chances? Probably still pretty slim

I posted that information here:
Jellybeanery wrote:I found this, with a quick Google search:
The rate of serious rash in this analysis is between 2 and 4 cases per 10,000 new users of lamotrigine (the manufacturer’s usual quoted rate is higher: 1 per 1,000).
But do you really want to take the chances? If you do develop the rash, you will have to be taken off of it. So please take your doctor's advice.

Yes, can considering that I am raising the dose faster than they did in that study, the stat wouldn't apply.
If that stat did apply, it is certainly a chance I would take....pretty slim

Although the chances are slim, as antisocial said, raising the dose too fast increases the risk. But if you want to against your doctors orders, and against the information we are giving you, that is your decision.

No offense Tsterr, but why did you ask about this if you're countering every factual piece of evidence and empirical experience posted here? You don't need any facts OR opinions if you're set on doing it regardless. I'm a bit confused.

I am open to your facts and options, but they have mainly confirmed what the doctor said. I posted to see if potentially someone would convince me that my plan is more dangerous than I thought, but it seems that with the right amount of caution and looking for a rash, I should be fine doing it a bit faster
