Hello, all! As the subject states, I'm new to psychforums, and therefore new to this specific forum. I am also relatively new to the world of bipolar disorder, as I was misdiagnosed with just depression when I was younger. So, I'm here to ask all of you a question: What are your tips and tricks to living with bipolar disorder?

I'm not like most people in this forum. Sleep patterns, caffeine, and alcohol have no effect on my moods WHATSOEVER!! I drink several cups of coffee daily and drink beer up to 3x a week. The only thing that has helped me is getting on the right meds and taking them every night. Although the stresses of working do impact my mood, and all I can say is I've been unemployed for a year and stable for that entire year. If I manage to find a job.. who knows what will happen. Everybody is different, ya know?

What is this "avoid stress" you speak of?

I'm a college student, so stress is the most frequently used word in my vocabulary.
