I just started Vraylar and have been taking it for 1.5 weeks. It had dramatically helped my symptoms. I am out of my depression? No more sucidal thoughts, etc. However, I am extremely drowsy! I take it at night and even the next day all I want to do is sleep. I am a very busy person and it is taking a toll on me. Is this a short term side effect from getting used to it or something that will not go away? Not sure I want to keep taking this if it is a long term thing. Thanks!

Hi and welcome to Psych Forums

I didn't answer your question earlier as I was busy with my kids and other things in "life."

I take Vraylar. So far I've not had that side effect, although from reading the information packet, it is one of the side-effects "somnolence." So I recommend you calling your doctor ASAP and telling them about it so they can counsel you whether to stop it immediately or what other instructions they may have for you. It's not normal to have this. Perhaps you may stop getting like this but ask your doctor. I too have found Vraylar to be very helpful for my mood swings. I deal mostly with depression. Let us know how it goes, please. I am very interested since I do take this drug.
