Your experience with hypersexuality.

The last time I was manic (fairly recently) I had sex with complete strangers from Grindr - too many to count (everything is 'blurry'). I saw sex in absolutely everything and I felt challenged to have as much sex as possible.
I also become much more interested in sex with women, despite identifying as mostly gay.
I'm still waiting for HIV and Hepatitis testing (I have an appointment on the 23rd).

I've had times when I was more sexual / sexually active than what I normally am, but I don't know if I can describe it as hypersexuality.

I believe that, as I tend to be very romantic, this conflicts with a possible hypersexuality in my case.

Ummm, today... (hello ultradian cycling) I reactivated my dating site (ahem, dating) account and almost set up a threesome, except the guys backed off at the last moment. Which pissed me off because I only had one thing on my mind – sex. By now I'm like, meh, glad they backed off, I'd have to, like, get dressed and get out and it's cold.

I have an open relationship – since the beginning. Which makes things much more easier. Because my husband doesn't mind. And I don't have to feel guilty. I just tell him if something happens and I keep safe. That's all.

I'm very hyper-sexual most of the time, but especially when manic. Only problem is I have intimacy issues, and trouble communicating when I want it so would looooove for that to not be the case.

But yeah sex in a car, movie theater, mile high club, you name it when I'm manic, and I'm down long as I can actually somehow communicate it. *Sigh

I prefer sex with people I know. And I haven't had anyone that fits the FB role.

So, I rarely have sex when manic. I just take care of myself.

Would also like to clarify my previous post, that I too only have sex with people I've known for at least 6 months, but have a habit of getting with folks who also have manic/hyper-sexual tendencies. Also I haven't done anything public in quite a while, but that could have to do with me being several years sober too. I become much more "free-spirited" when intoxicated. >_>

No judgement from me. I frequently want sex. Just don't pick up people very often. I am older.

Hyper sexuality is my biggest challenge. I have terrible shakes when I can't have sex when I need it, simular to drug addicts who need a fix and masturbation only helps for 30 min.

This has caused martial problems since we have a sexless marriage. I've had a hard time being faithful and began hitting on women in front of my wife. I have no doubt I would act on it if these women would accept. I don't want to cheat and haven't. I would only do it with my wifes approval which would not occur.

Does anyone have a method to control the intense needs?

Hyper sexuality is my hardest bi-polar symptom do cope with. I am in a sexless marriage which makes this much worse. My wife knows that I can't always control myself, but I haven't cheated yet. I do however hit on women in front of her and tell them I want to make them pregnant. Crazy I know, I can't explain it. I know I would act on it in front of her if they agreed. I do not want a divorce and we are seeking counseling, but I have done this several times, twice with her best friend.

Masturbation is not enough and I have terrible shakes like those that drug addicts experience when they need a fix.

suggestions?

Divorce?

A sexless marriage would not work for me.
