I would like to say, that I am prone to mania in the summer, and depression in the winter. But my counselor pointed out that I have been depressed in the summer before, so I guess it's not always true. Of the few times I can recall getting manic, it was in the summer though.

Similarly to Jellybeanery, I tend towards mania in the summer and depression in the winter, but it's not a hard and fast rule, just a tendency I've noticed. Other factors which affect my mood, such as stress levels and the medications I'm on, are more likely to influence it than the season, I'd say.

I seem to have longer periods of hypomania in the summer. However, I can either depressed or hypomanic (maybe; I haven't gotten a dx yet) anytime of the year. It seems like my quality of sleep has the most influence on my mood. I have noticed factors like changing time zones, caffeine intake, and stress affecting my mood, though I think it is because all of those things affect my quality of sleep.
