Trazodone

Postby Jellybeanery » Mon Feb 27, 2017 11:07 pm

I have read some posts online about Trazodone causing mania in bipolar patients. Will 50mg send me into mania? I'm going to be taking it for sleep and I'm curious how others have reacted to this drug.

I have read up on it and had my sister in law recommend it to help me sleep. I understand it's an antidepressant. But don't quote me on that. My memory fails me at times. I have never taken it.

Edited to add that I did a quick google search on it and it is an antidepressant and sedative.

I'm also curious about the antidepressant part. I wonder if it will pull me out of the funk I've been in. I wonder if 50mg is too low of a dose to do anything other than promote sleep..

I have a relative with bipolar that takes it for sleep. Doesn't make him manic.
