The Forum has been important to me... Thanks.

Postby skilsaw » Sat Dec 10, 2016 9:05 am

I was just looking through some old PM's from the summer. (Yes, I keep them all.) and want to share a part of a note from August.

Just so you know, Oliveira, moderator on the Bipolar forum, is familiar with my craziness. He, and the others on that forum have been a godsend over the last 3 years. I think my average posts per day is near 2. When I was in a really bad state and walking the tightrope I was probably posting a dozen notes per day. I got dozens of messages of support and a legion of members shared their insight into my problems based on their experience. It did more for me than medication. I was not alone in my illness. I was also able to empathize and have compassion for those I identified with and tried to support. That too was healing.

Part of my recent big crash is feeling totally alone and for whatever reason "Unacceptable" while I cry out to be allowed to be me and to be entitled to my views, even if someone doesn't agree. You allow me that here.

Thank you.
David

We love you here skilsaw. Just as you are. Except when I have to edit some bits ;) but I do that lovingly as well. I am so happy to hear that we can be helpful and trust me, you've helped others too. Big hug for you.

You are "Acceptable" to me just as you are.

I recall when I was posting like a dozen posts per day as well. I felt and I still feel very comfortable here. :D

It's great to see you back here today. :D

Wow. Acceptance and support.

And Oliveira may edit a comment I just made in a post I just sent.
Consider it an Easter Egg. See if you can find it...

oops.
I see I signed my real name.
Now you know I am not the mighty SKILSAW: man of steel.
I'm David. Just plain David.
But that too is okay.

I have no clue what you want me to fix, so PM me :)

And we all have real names. Even me! As hard as it is to believe ;)

Great to see you back here skilsaw/David, though I'm sorry to hear you've been struggling. As important as this forum has been to you, I'm sure you've given back here just as much. Please remember you're not alone and we're here for you, just as you are for us. Welcome back.

If you can't find it, it doesn't need to be fixed...
But the Easter egg is out there. I think I made a political statement. Politics is a no-no on the Forum. Can't remember what I said yesterday and I'm too lazy to dig it up.
