Remission

Postby redeemer » Sun Aug 17, 2014 6:38 am

I've been thinking about this quite a bit lately as I decide whether I want to alter my med combo or not.

What is remission from cycling like to each of you?

I like to think that I'm in a good place then, every once in awhile, I have days where I feel so completely normal that I'm amazed I need medicine. I guess, for me, I tend to drift a bit through bipolar traits (such as random irritability).

Very interesting point of discussion! I was just defining for myself what "mentally ill" means and was happy to see that my criteria allows for me to say that I am mentally well most of the time and that I slip in and out of illness on occasion. I honestly feel that "mental illness" can be transient and has varying degrees of severity. I view my "mental illness" like a cold. I am sick sometimes with varying degrees of severity of symptoms. My norm is to be healthy and free of symptoms. (Unfortunately I have to take drugs to keep that at bay but...) I would rather say that I am well than in remission. Semantics? Words are so powerful.
