The only book I've ever read about bipolar is Welcome to the Jungle by Hilary Smith. It was actually fairly helpful, and it wasn't painful to read at all.

Interesting read so far.

I read that book when I was first diagnosed (An Unquiet Mind). Gave me the chills because a lot of the struggles she had, I felt like they mirrored my own, although I've had much less success in life lol.

I actually want to read the book the movie Silver Linings Playbook is based on. My wife and I watched it and I actually had to pause it during the scene when he wakes up his family because he has to tell them about this book he was reading. He couldn't let it go and it escalated and got really out of hand, gave me chills. I'm going to read that book next.

Rat Girl/Paradoxical Undressin by Kristin Hersh is an amazing easy read about bipolar.

I haven't read any memoirs, but think I'll get a couple of those mentioned off amazon when I get paid. The only thing I've read is "The Bipolar Survival Guide" by David J. Miklowitz, PhD. Really helped me understand my illness, what I was doing to make it worse, how it's viewed from an outside (friends/families) perspective and what I could be doing to help myself.
