Thanks guys,
It is good to know I am not alone.
Too easy feel persecuted like I am the only one in the world to have this problem.

Maybe if we all hold hands and hum a little mantra, the perpetrators will have bad karma and die from abdominal parasites.
It is not always possible to make someone's discomfort go away.
Sometimes, the best thing we can do is resist the urge to fix it and instead just say, "You, too?"

Lol! If only that worked... I can't say I've tried a mantra, but I have tried screaming stuff at the top of my lungs. Never worked, though. Maybe that's what I'm doing wrong? ;)

Seriously now, install adblock, it's a really cool add-on. Works for facebook and youtube too.

I've never used it, since I mostly use Safari, but there is an app for Chrome called "AdBlock" in Chrome's store. It's free. I'm guessing it's the same, but I'm not sure.

Adblock duly installed- so far so good :D

Indeed

On a serious note I do know when I am unwell some of the adverts can be quite triggering and paranoia inducing at times too

Anyhow thanks for the advice and hopefully all will be well soon anyhow

Triggering. I find hat they make me feel like im being violated.

Sorry to all you advertisers , had you not made your ads constantly moving i wouldnt of had to block you. But i will never forget you as they have been forever imprinted in my brain.

I must agree. In a way I felt guilty using AdBlock but the moment ads started installing stuff on my computer, covering entire screen, blinking like a strobe light, jumping all over the place and hiding the "close" button as well as humanly possible, I decided they had to go. There is such a thing as "too well visible".
Currently working on my upcoming signature.

I use my iPad and when I open a new page in a forum here, I am often sent to the App Store to download some game or other app. Also, I get pop ups saying I need to download things because my computer is at risk. So the problem includes Safari, too. Any suggestions?

Sorry this is happening to you too - I was having a similar experience until I installed adblock (thanks guys for the advice) and thankfully now so far touch wood it has settled. Not sure what there is for Safari but I am sure there is something.

Also obviously dont click on anything.

Hopefully it will settle soon but I def have found using an ad blocker has helped and I was getting things that sound as invasive as yours

Sorry, I must've missed this! I'm using Safari on my MacBook and adblock works great. Maybe it works on your iPad too? I don't know if I can link to the website for download, but if you search google for "adblock" it's the 4th entry. Hope it works for you!
